Responsible Gambling
DigitalSportsCave is an information service, not a sportsbook. We believe that if you choose to bet, it should stay fun, controlled, and something you can afford. This page has the warning signs of a problem and where to get free, confidential help.
Get help now
If gambling has stopped being fun — for you or someone you know — help is available 24/7, free and confidential:
- 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537) — call or text the national problem gambling helpline.
- National Council on Problem Gambling — 1-800-522-4700 or ncpgambling.org.
- Gamblers Anonymous — support meetings and resources at gamblersanonymous.org.
- In an emergency, or if you're in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or dial 911.
Warning signs of a problem
- Betting more than you can afford to lose, or chasing losses to get even.
- Borrowing money, selling things, or neglecting bills to keep gambling.
- Lying to family or friends about how much you bet.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back.
- Gambling to escape stress, or letting it interfere with work, sleep, or relationships.
Tips for staying in control
- Set a budget and a time limit before you start — and stick to them.
- Only wager money you can comfortably afford to lose. Never bet the rent.
- Treat any winnings as a bonus, not income you can count on.
- Don't chase losses. Take breaks, and never gamble while upset or under the influence.
- Use sportsbook tools like deposit limits, time-outs, and self-exclusion when you need them.
Know the rules where you live
Sports betting is legal only in certain jurisdictions and is restricted by age — typically 21+ in the United States (18+ in some places). You are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply to you, and for gambling only where it is legal to do so.
